As they made public last year, La Raíz will take a long time break this 2018. Until this very day the band from Gandia had already announced the shows in Barcelona (Sant Jordi Club, the 19th and 20th October… sold out the 20th) and Madrid (Vistalegre Black Box on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd November…tickets only available for the 1st), but they had not revealed the farewell day yet. Today the band has set the date on Saturday 17th November at Auditori Marina Sud in Valencia. The tickets for the show are already available at Codetickets.
La Raíz leaves behind a legacy: 12 historic years hitting the stages worldwide, having released five studio CDs and a live CD-DVD.
During this summer the band will take its farewell tour to the main state festivals and visit the UK before the shows in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia.

From the underground, La Raíz put the Spanish state’s alternative scene upside down with “Entre poetas y presos” during the spring of 2016. It was a studio record very welcomed by the critics but mainly (and more important) by the public: during 13 weeks it was amongst the 30 most sold CD at Promusicae’s list “Top100 Most Sold CDs”. The earthquake caused by the sales was parallel to the fist single’s videoclip success (“Rueda la corona” has more than 5M views in YouTube) and the aftershock still remains: in 2017 La Raíz was 36 weeks at Promusicae’s list “Top100 Streaming Albums”, achieving top 17 in September.
The previous 2016, a total of 70 shows took La Raíz to tour around the main cities and summer festivals in the Spanish state, as well as dates in England, Germany, France and Nepal. La Raíz kept on going with “Entre poetas y presos” in 2017, taking an international tour called “La Hoguera de los Continentes”. This supposed more than 40 shows in the main state festivals and playing in foreign countries like Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal, Ireland, Italy and Germany. The tour ended in Palacio de los Deportes de Vistalegre in Madrid, which has a capacity of 10.000 localities. The show was filmed in order to release a live CD+DVD released last February.
